Hope in NY!? Will the Knicks turn things around?

The New York Knicks hired former Suns head coach Mike D'Antoni, ending the dark days of Isaih Thomas.
Isaih Thomas, a NBA legend in his own right was a complex individual full of contradictions.
He had that bright smile as a player, but he also had enemies. Being snubbed from the original Barcelona Olympics Dream Team was a sign of his reputation and relationships with other NBA players.
His roots as a coach were a blend of Detroit Piston Bad Boys and Bob Knight Indiana basketball. Which meant less dribbling, more passing and a focus on fundamental man-to-man defense.Which was ironic since he may have been one of the top dribblers in NBA history and also was not known for his defense.

So as a coach and GM, his contradictions continued. He seemed to want to implement a new Isaih version of Bad Boy defense and motion offense Indiana. However the players he collected never spelled those words. Stephon Marbury is not your typical passing guard. A rotation of Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, Renaldo Balkman, David Lee, Quentin Richardson, none kwown for their passing nor defense, may as well been suited better to full court press like the old Rick Pittino Knicks instead of a half court man-to-man. Then it was Eddie Curry and Zach Randolph in the picture. So you could throw out the uptempo style right there.

Now it's time for the ever famous 7 second offense and Mike D'Antoni. Will he go the way of the Suns? What will happen with Eddie Curry and Zach Randolph? or will D'Antoni come up with some other solutions. In any case, similar to the old Rick Pittino days, now with better management in Donnie Walsh, and an expected uptempo style, it looks like the excitement is back in NY. Let's just hope Mr. Dolan keeps quiet.
